Domains of Life

 

Scientists use shared derived characters to identify where groups diverged from one another. Evolutionary relationships based upon shared derived characteristics were established. This information was used to create a classification system with the domains of life. Archaea, Bacteria, and Eukaryota are the three domains. The information that is classified into the domains posess unique ancient evolutionary history.
